Project Background
A systematic health monitoring system was implemented for 18 key highway bridges across the district. Using visual monitoring devices as the core sensing tool, supplemented by tilt and vibration sensors, the system collects key indicators such as bridge deflection, tilt, and vibration in real time, and fully integrates with the local Highway Bridges Management Platform through standardized interfaces. This project achieved real-time monitoring of the Yuhang District's transportation backbone network, completing a leap from manual inspection to digital "automatic monitoring." Through a data-driven "proactive protection" model, it effectively ensured structural safety and sustainable management of urban infrastructure.

Project Solution
The 18 pilot bridges are in Pingyao, Liangzhu, and Yuhang areas of Yuhang District, encompassing various types including river-crossing bridges, interchanges, and grade-separated interchanges. Bridge lengths range from 55.8m to 524m, and widths from 8m to 46.5m. Some are dual-lane, two-way designs, while others are single-lane structures.
The monitoring plan is based on the characteristics of the bridge structure (beam structure, steel box girder structure, etc., span size and traffic importance, and the monitoring equipment is deployed differently. The focus is on the two core monitoring indicators of pier tilt and bridge deflection to ensure that the monitoring covers key risk points.

Project Outcomes
The safe operation supervision platform for bridges in Yuhang District has been successfully established, with the main content of early warning analysis for bridge structural health monitoring, to achieve comprehensive, all-round, and systematic 24-hour uninterrupted monitoring of highway bridges, so as to timely discover and eliminate hidden dangers to ensure the safe operation of bridges.
