Tailings Ponds are high-potential-energy man-made debris flow hazards; dam failure would cause devastating disasters.

This system automatically collects and issues early warnings for key indicators such as dam displacement, seepage line, dry beach length, reservoir water level, seepage flow, precipitation, and video data, effectively preventing risks and providing reliable assurance for the safe operation of tailings ponds throughout their entire lifecycle.

Demand Analysis
  • Dam Instability Occurs Frequently
    Dam failure is the biggest disaster of tailings ponds, when the storage exceeds pond capacity or human. Surface or internal displacement of dam body caused by overfilling of pond or human damage can lead to dam failure which is the biggest disaster of tailings pond and cause economic loss.
  • Dry Beach Stock Exceeds Standard
    Water in tailings pond settle gradually, forming a deposit on the interception surface of dam, causing solid tailings deposit,the exposed beach above water, if exceeding limits, may cause major safety accidents such as overtopping, dam failure, etc.
  • Poor flood prevention capacity
    Tailings ponds usually stores a large amount of slurry settling water, in case of prolonged rainfall, it’s necessary to discharge the flood timely through structures( such as wells, shutes, pipe culvert and tunnels). Damaged or blocked facilities can cause poor drainage, leading to overtopping, dam scouring, and even dam break.
  • Seepage Damage and Rising Seepage Line
    An excessively high seepage line reduces the dam's anti-sliding stability and induces seepage damage. It is necessary to monitor the dam's seepage line, seepage pressure, seepage flow rate, and seepage water turbidity to promptly detect abnormal seepage channels.

    Based on historical and real-time monitoring data, combined with rainfall forecasts and reservoir water level dynamics, we conduct trend predictions and safety assessments of risks such as flooding, damage to the drainage system, dam slope instability, and seepage damage, providing a scientific basis for emergency decision-making.
