Project name
Bridge Structural Safety and Health Monitoring Project for the Reconstruction of Fengqing Avenue
-
Project Background
The Fengqing Avenue reconstruction project is approximately 12.6 kilometers long. To ensure the safe operation of the viaduct, the design recommends implementing online real-time structural safety and health monitoring for the bridges in the karst area. This requires monitoring of pier foundation settlement, pier tilt, and superstructure displacement within the area. It also requires the provision of a relevant bridge monitoring system platform for displaying and issuing early warnings of monitoring data, and timely provision of corresponding monitoring results reports to meet the needs of daily management, maintenance, and safety assessment of the bridge structure.
-
Project Solution
Establish a structural health monitoring system centered on online monitoring and early warning of bridge structural status and bridge management. This system utilizes various sensors and data acquisition devices deployed within the bridge's monitoring area, employing a combination of automated monitoring and electronic inspection to acquire characteristic information representing structural responses (including localized damage), component conditions, and environmental parameters. After statistical analysis and processing, the system provides real-time assessments of structural status, damage, and load-bearing capacity based on set safety thresholds, achieving a safety early warning function. This provides a basis for decision-making in bridge operation, maintenance, and management, and realizes the digitalization, electronification, and informatization of bridge management.

Project Outcomes
The goal of this project is to enhance bridge monitoring, alarm linkage, and facility operation and maintenance by integrating a multi-dimensional sensing system that combines video sensing and bridge monitoring.
By monitoring structural safety and health, key road sections can be monitored to achieve integrated control capabilities of perception, monitoring, and linkage for the reconstruction of Fengqing Avenue, thereby improving road operation and maintenance capabilities and realizing refined management of key road sections.
A comprehensive management platform has been built to enhance bridge stress monitoring and link alarm and facility operation and maintenance subsystems through the integration of underlying transmission and control protocols, thereby improving the efficiency of emergency command and response.
