  • Project name
Mobile Intelligent Monitoring Project in the Sanxia Square and Tuwan Areas of Shapingba District
  • Project Background
The gas monitoring industry faces multiple challenges, including complex pipeline networks, high-altitude blind spots, and interference from weather and cross-gases. Traditional ground-based equipment struggles to detect minute leaks in high-rise risers and overhead pipelines. Strong winds, rain, and snow cause leaked gases to rapidly dilute and disperse, and urban biogas and exhaust gases can easily trigger false alarms. Furthermore, inspections and maintenance are disconnected, lacking real-time, high-precision positioning and linkage, requiring maintenance personnel to conduct secondary investigations. In addition, traditional inspections rely on experienced technicians, while younger technicians lack the ability to interpret laser equipment and massive amounts of data, easily overlooking intermittent leaks that only fluctuate with pressure.
  • Project Solution
Currently, inspections are limited to manual checks focused on "identifying potential hazards," which is insufficient to cover all areas and is prone to interference and false alarms, heavily relying on the experience of inspection personnel. Taking advantage of the opportunity presented by the urban gas pipeline network upgrade and renovation, we will promote the management of potential hazards in aging pipelines and intelligent monitoring, install and deploy two-wheeled, four-wheeled, and drone inspection equipment, and equip them with handheld methane detectors. This will improve the perception of the operational status of gas facilities and the ability to provide risk warnings, enhance the health and lifespan of pipeline assets, construct a digital inspection closed loop, and achieve lean management.
  • Project Outcomes
The mobile intelligent monitoring project in the Sanxia Square and Tuwan areas of Shapingba District has achieved remarkable results: over 32 kilometers of low-pressure gas pipelines have been upgraded, safety alarm devices have been installed for more than 3,700 households, and over 4,400 sets of intelligent IoT sensing devices have been deployed, covering nearly 100 kilometers of pipelines. Sixty AI cameras and over 150 laser inspection devices (including two-wheeled/four-wheeled/drone-mounted/handheld devices) have been deployed, forming a three-dimensional monitoring network of "ground + air + fixed points." Since its implementation, the system has successfully issued early warnings for 104 safety hazards, reducing on-site response time by 40%, and effectively promoting the transformation of gas safety from passive reporting to proactive prevention.
